1321 - Godfather of Sports Card Protection

 Dr Beckett,

Thank you for taking the time to answer my question, I know it was a tough one!

In the mid 1970's I attended my first “Sports Card Show” or “Baseball Card Convention.” (as they used to call them in those days).  The main thing I came away with from attending “The Baseball Card Convention” was learning that my cards needed to be protected.

Thanks again,

Bart

Dr. Beckett delves into the history and development of sports card protection, discussing various card protection methods, from shoeboxes to penny sleeves, plastic sheets, top loaders, and card savers. He also pays homage to potential 'godfathers' of sports card protection, including influential figures and companies that have made significant contributions to the field.
